Carly Gangell established Females Fighting Forward in 2013 following a desire to help women improve their self confidence and self defence capabilities.
Since establishment in 2013, the program has provided many individual women along with schools, sporting clubs and organisations with essential self defence skills surrounding street safety and awareness.
Carly has been praised as a highly skilled, enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor that engages, inspires and motivates participants. Her ability to teach a range of fun and practical techniques to students of all ages and abilities in a supportive and fun environment has led to women of all ages taking part in her seminars, classes and competition.
Carly has trained in martial arts for 17 years at her father’s gym, Boars Martial Arts. She currently holds a 3rd dan black belt in freestyle karate. Her experience stems deeply into the Muay Thai world, training and fighting in Thailand and other countries multiple times. Carly holds several titles and remains an active fighter, mostly seen on South Australia’s biggest show, Knees of Fury. Her achievements include 2x IFMA Australian Champion, IFMA World Champion, South Pacific Champion, 2x Commonwealth Champion and Shins of Steel Champion.
